Itinerary

Day 1: The Floating Islands of Uros & Amantani Island

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel around 7:45 a.m., followed by a short transfer to the main port of Puno. There, your professional guide will welcome you and start this wonderful 2-day, 1-night journey on Lake Titicaca.

As you sail across the lake — located at over 3,800 meters above sea level (12,467 ft) — your guide will share fascinating insights about the world’s highest navigable lake.

Your first stop will be the Floating Islands of the Uros, where you’ll meet a local Uros family. They will introduce you to their unique way of life, including traditional fishing methods for carachi and silverside fish, and reveal the ancient secrets of the totora reed, the plant used to build their homes, boats, and islands.
Today, the Uros community is made up of about 100 floating islands, each preserving its ancestral culture and traditions.

After this authentic experience, you’ll continue your journey to the beautiful Amantani Island.

Upon arrival, the local families will warmly welcome you and guide you to their homes, where you’ll enjoy a homemade lunch prepared with fresh local ingredients.

In the afternoon, you’ll take a scenic hike to the highest points of the island, visiting the Pachatata and Pachamama temples, sacred sites revered by the locals. From here, you’ll admire one of the most breathtaking sunsets over Lake Titicaca.

Later, return to your host family’s home for dinner and get ready for a cultural night of music and traditional dance, where you’ll celebrate together with the islanders.
After this unforgettable evening, rest peacefully in your family homestay surrounded by the tranquility of Amantani.

Day 2: Taquile Island – Cultural Heritage of the Andes

The next morning, enjoy a delicious traditional breakfast with your host family before saying goodbye. Your hosts will accompany you to the dock to board the boat and continue the journey to your next destination — the Island of Taquile.

After approximately one hour of navigation, you’ll arrive at the picturesque Taquile Island, located at 3,905 meters above sea level (12,959 ft).

Begin your walk along beautiful stone pathways, passing through ancient arches while greeting the friendly Taquileños. Along the way, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

Taquile is world-renowned for its handwoven textiles, declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Finally, descend back to the dock, board your boat to return to Puno, and end your trip with a hotel drop-off.

This two-day experience will leave you with lasting memories of the beauty, culture, and warmth of the people of Lake Titicaca.
